Experience

Dr Tay Miah Hiang is Senior Consultant Medical Oncologist at OncoCare and formerly consultant at the National Cancer Centre Singapore’s Department of Medical Oncology and Chairperson of Patient Education & Patient Survivorship programmes. From 2006-15, Dr Tay served on the board of Singapore Children’s Cancer Foundation and was Chairperson of the foundation from 2011-13, and now an advisor. Since 2017 he’s been a member of Singapore Medical Council (SMC).

Dr Tay is a pioneer in kidney cancer and at the forefront of treatment in Singapore. He is also a renowned authority in prostate cancer in Singapore, and in 2013 developed guidelines for the treatment of prostate cancer and management of kidney cancer in Asia at the 2012 Asian Oncology Summit.

Dr Tay is also acclaimed in treating testicular, bladder and gynaecological cancers such as ovarian, uterine/cervical cancers, gastrointestinal & hepatobiliary cancers, lung cancer and brain tumours.

Teaching

Dr Tay is passionately engaged in Medical Education, giving lectures in cancer management to cancer specialists, general practitioners, medical students and patients. He has gained many awards for his excellent humanitarian service with disaster relief after the Afghanistan war and in Sri Lanka.

Interests & Contributions

Passionately involved in clinical research for years, in genitourinary (testicular, kidney, bladder, prostate), lung and other cancers. He’s published research on prostate cancer and chemotherapy and is published both locally and internationally in Urology, Cancer, and Annals of Oncology. He has also written chapters in internationally recognised cancer books such as Comprehensive Textbook of Genitourinary Oncology, American Cancer Society’s Complete Guide to Prostate Cancer 2006, and Textbook on Urologic Oncology 2004.
